Notification for Admission into Full Time / External Ph.D

Applications are invited for admission into Full Time / External Ph.D Programmes in Environmental Science, Microbiology, Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Management, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nano Science & Technology and Basic Sciences (Mathematics and Chemistry) 
ADMISSION:
  • Admission for Ph.D programmes is through an entrance examination conducted by JNIAS and subsequent interview for candidates qualified in Entrance Examination by Panel of experts constituted by JNIAS.
  • However, candidates qualified in UGC, CSIR-NET, M.Phil are exempted from appearing for the entrance examination.
Eligibility :
    • Admission for Ph.D programmes is for candidates possessing Post Graduate qualifications in the concerned subjects with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) or an equivalent grade.
    • This Notification is being issued in accordance with the MOU entered into between JNIAS and Andhra University, Visakhapatnam for offering Ph.D programmes and the final degrees would be awarded by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
    • All admissions for the academic programmes of the Institute are Nationwide and the rule of reservation will apply.
    • For the details of the Fees to be paid, the candidates may contact the Registrar, JNIAS. 
    • The detailed schedule of Ph.d entrance examination shall be announced separately.
    • The rules and regulations of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam shall be applicable to these Ph.D programmes.  
    Note :
    • The duly filled-in applications together with copies of certificates and a Demand Draft for Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand five hundred only) (in case of SC/ST candidates Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) towards registration and processing fee  drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of “The Registrar, JNIAS”, payable at Hyderabad should reach the The Registrar,  Jawaharlal  Nehru  Institute  of  Advanced  Studies (JNIAS), 6th  Floor,  Buddha Bhawan,M.G. Road, Secunderabad - 500003, Telanagana, India on or before 30.12.2014 by 05.00 P.M. Important Dates :
      • Last date for receipt of filled-in Applications without fine:  30th December 2014
      • Last Date for receipt of filled-in Applications with a fine (Rs.1000/- ): 9th  January 2015
      • Date of commencement of Entrance Test: 17th January 2015
      • Date of commencement of Counseling for Admissions:29th January 2015
