Positions available Each applicant can appear for only one position A Walk-In Assessment-cum-Interview will be held on 29-08-2015 (Saturday) at 9:30.a.m. for the positions of Project Linked Persons for extramural projects to be executed by the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, Kalyani.
Selected applicants will be appointed for a period of one year. The tenure of appointment may be extended depending on performance and availability of funds.
Project Description: Oral cancer is one of the deadliest cancers in Indian population. The majorities of the oral tumors do not respond satisfactorily to available treatments or quickly become non-responsive. This has prompted us to undertake an investigation on the biology of oral-stem-like cancer cells (Oral-SLCCs). Stem-like cancer cells are believed to be associated with tumor initiation, propagation, metastasis, recurrence and resistance to therapy in a variety of cancers.
02 Technical Specialist (1)
(1) M.Sc. or equivalent in genetics/life sciences/biochemistry/ biotechnology/ related discipline OR B.Sc. in any scientific discipline with at least three years’ experience in genomics laboratory work
(2) Basic experience in DNA & RNA laboratory work, including PCR, sequencing and genotyping Experience in
(1) Massively Parallel Sequencing
(2) Microarray based gene expression and genotyping
(3) Annotation/analyses of DNA sequence and genotype data
(1) Hands-on massively parallel sequencing laboratory work
(2) Genomics laboratory instrument operations
18,000/- to 25,000/-
